Bugatti’s fastest, 1825 hp hypercar Bolide revealed

Yesterday, Bugatti revealed the latest avatar of it’s famed Chiron platform, the Bugatti Bolide. It is the fastest and lightest car ever produced in the company’s history and runs on it’s legendary 8-litre W16 engine, similar to the Super Sport 300. However, this engine has been reengineered to run on 110 octane racing fuel, enabling it to put out over 1825 hp, nearly 250 hp more than the Super Sport, and achieve top speeds of over 310 mph.

The Bolide weighs a mere 1240 kgs (excluding the fluids), resulting in a mind blowing power to
weight ratio of 0.67 hp/pound. The low weight was achieved by designing a structure based
heavily on carbon fibre and printed titanium, engineered with cutting edge technology and
endless simulations.

Incredibly aerodynamic, the Bolide also features a ‘morphable skin’ on the intake scoop on it’s
roof, that morphs into a ‘bubble field’ redirecting airflow and reducing both drag and lift forces.

BUGATTI BOLIDE and its technology

As you might have divined, the Bolide is track-only and has been predicted to complete the Le
Mans lap in a short 3 minutes and 7 seconds in simulations. Bugatti has not yet clarified
whether it will go into commercial production or stay as a one off concept. We hope for the
former, and that we’ll win the lottery when it does because it will most definitely be expensive, or
at least more than 2019’s Super Sport 300 which cost around 4 million USD.

Enough talking, watch the video below and be amazed.
