Presenting the new Hypercar in town – The Milan RED

Our weekdays are starting to look a lot brighter than our weekends. We were invited to the launch event for the acclaimed hypercar, the Milan Red, last Wednesday at the Deals On Wheels showroom, on Sheikh Zayed Road. Deals on Wheels is one of the most prestigious car dealers in the GCC, hosting a vast array of luxury cars, supercars , and hypercars in its catalogue. It’s no wonder that Deals on Wheels was chosen to be the exclusive agent for the Milan Red in the GCC.

Milan automotive is an Austrian manufacturer officially founded in 2017 by motoring enthusiast Markus Fux, and has spent over a year of research and design to build the perfect hypercar. Inspired by the Austrian falcon, the Milan Red features aerodynamic aesthetics resembling that of a falcon swooping fast towards its prey. The car was also displayed at the Formula 1 race in Abu Dhabi, where it became quite the showstopper. The Milan Red is a limited edition vehicle with only 99 units planned to be produced, of which 18 have already been reserved.

In terms of power, this vehicle seems to be a perfect rival for the Bugatti Chiron, at least on paper. Milan states that the car is powered by 1325 horsepower 6.2L V8 Quad Turbo Engine, enabling it to go from 0-100 in 2.47 seconds, the same as the Chiron. If true, this would be quite an admirable feat considering that the Milan Red operates on rear wheel drive as compared to the Chiron’s all-wheel drive. According to Milan Automotive, the Red can hit 200 kph in 5.46 seconds and 300 kph in 9.98 seconds, leading to an eventual top speed of 400 kph.

We assume that the Red’s relatively light weight, around 1300 kgs , could be the reason the it trumps other supercars in the acceleration category. Milan has achieved this by incorporating carbon fiber as an integral material in the vehicle chassis. To quote the Milan website ”From the crash box, the suspension system, passenger cell, as well as the rear sub frame bearing engine, gearbox and a CFRP crash structure, carbon fiber is the only material providing the properties needed to manufacture the Milan RED.” Moreover for the first time in a road approved vehicle, Milan has used aerodynamically optimized wishbones made of Carbon in the car, a technology only found in Formula 1 until now. The forged aluminium wheels feature Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes for its front and rear wheels.
